Privacy Policy

VU Prime is a Chrome extension built for Virtual University of Pakistan campus staff. This page explains, plainly, what the extension does and does not do with your data and your students' data.

What stays in your browser

VU Prime automates your own VU portal session using your own login, the same way you'd click through it yourself, just faster. Your VU portal password is never seen, transmitted, or stored by VU Prime. Automation (marking challans, filling forms, sending WhatsApp messages) runs locally in your browser.

What we store, and why

• Account & subscription data. Your email address and a device identifier are stored on our servers (Cloudflare) so we can validate that your campus subscription is active. This is the only thing checked on every use.
• Student documents you process with Admission AutoFill. When you upload a student's documents, they're sent once to Anthropic's Claude API (and, for some fields, Google's Gemini API) to read the text on them (OCR). The extracted details and the documents themselves are then saved to your own campus's private, isolated record on our servers (Cloudflare D1 and R2). A campus can never see another campus's records. We do not share this data with any third party beyond the OCR request itself.
• Payments made on this website. When you buy or renew on the Buy page, we keep your name, email, mobile number, campus code and the payment screenshot you send, only to confirm the payment and switch your account on. Only VU Prime admins can see the screenshot, and you can ask us to delete it. The subscription status page shows your plan only when both your campus code and your registered email match.
• Community chat. If you use the in-extension chat, your messages are stored so the feature can work (message history, moderation). Don't share anything in chat you wouldn't want other subscribers to see.
• Basic product-usage events. Actions like signing in, signing out, and a run starting, finishing, or hitting an error are logged against your account email, plan, and device, so we can see what's actually being used and fix problems. This stays internal to VU Prime. It's never shared with advertisers or used to track you outside the extension.

Analytics on this website

The vuprime.com marketing pages (not the extension itself, and not the dashboards you log into) use Google Analytics to understand traffic: pages viewed, general location, and device type. This is standard site-traffic analytics, not an advertising tracker. We do not enable ad personalization or cross-site ad targeting through it, and it does not run inside the extension or on any page containing student or account data.

What we never do

• We never sell or share your data, or your students' data, with third parties.
• We never access your VU portal outside of the actions you explicitly trigger.
• We don't use advertising trackers, ad networks, or cross-site ad targeting of any kind.

Permissions explained

Each browser permission VU Prime requests exists for a specific, visible feature: access to the VU portal to automate it, access to WhatsApp Web to send messages you compose, storage to remember your settings, and so on. Your data, your control

You can view the admission records your campus has saved from your account dashboard on this website. To have student records deleted, or to request deletion of your account and subscription data from our servers, email us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll post the update here and note the new date at the top of the page.
